Is there really no usage limit?

Correct. There are no daily caps and no monthly call caps. Connected inboxes, MCP tool calls, and API keys are unlimited on every plan, including Free; team members are available on paid plans (Free is single-user). The only limit is a per-minute fair-use ceiling (60/min on Free, 300/min on Solo, 1,000/min on Team) to protect the platform from abuse. Paid plans add higher burst throughput, team features, and support, never more usage.

What counts as an MCP call?

Each JSON-RPC tool invocation against your /mcp endpoint counts as one call: inbox_list, email_read, email_compose, email_organize, email_delete, folder, draft, schedule, or contact_search. Calls are unlimited; they only count toward your per-minute fair-use ceiling. We're a standard MCP server, so the same endpoint works with Claude, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT, Windsurf, n8n, Make, and any MCP-compatible client.

Is my email content stored anywhere?

The email your agent reads is never stored: bodies, subjects, attachments, and thread content are fetched live from your provider and returned directly to the agent, with nothing persisted between calls. We store your encrypted OAuth token or app password so we can authenticate future requests. The one exception is a message you ask us to schedule for later — we store it until it is sent, and keep a record afterwards for your history.

What's the difference between Solo and Team?

Free already gives everyone unlimited usage. Solo ($12/mo) is for power users who run agents hard: it raises the burst rate limit to 300 requests/minute, extends analytics history to 90 days, and adds email support. Team ($49/mo) is for businesses: a 1,000/minute ceiling, team roles and multiple workspaces, SSO (SAML/OIDC), an audit log, 1-year analytics history, and priority support.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time from the billing section of your dashboard. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access until the end of your billing period, then drop to Free automatically. Since Free is unlimited, you lose only the higher burst limit, team features, and support.

How does the annual discount work?

Paying annually saves about 17% versus monthly billing: Solo is $120/year and Team is $490/year. You're charged once for 12 months upfront. If you cancel mid-year, we refund the unused whole months.

What email providers are supported?

Accepted Answer

Gmail uses OAuth 2.0. Fastmail connects with an app password. iCloud, Yahoo, Zoho, and Yandex connect with an app-specific password, and any other mailbox works through the generic IMAP / SMTP connector.

Can I self-host it instead of paying?

Yes. MCP Emails is open source under AGPL-3.0 and free to self-host. A docker-compose stack runs the same MCP server, with your mailbox credentials encrypted under a key only you hold. Self-host covers IMAP and SMTP mailboxes; Gmail and Outlook one-click OAuth, the dashboard, team features, and support stay on the paid plans.
